Alberta’s Strength in Agriculture and Technology
The AgSmart conference really showcased Alberta’s Strength in Agriculture and Technology at institutions, programs and companies such as:
– Dr. Joy Agnew VP Research, Olds College of Agriculture & Technology’s announcement on additional participants in theCanadian Agri-Food Automation and Intelligence Network (CAAIN)
– Entrepreneurs Mokah and GeoffShmigelsky atOneCupAI the cattle recognition software company, busy this year as part of the Alberta Innovates SxSW cohort, and now being accepted by the Google for Startups Accelerator program
– Carlson Enterprises – a local 5th Generation Farming Family, – and their youngest members Carmen & Josh (newly graduated UofA Engineer) continuous commitment to innovating through post-secondary collaborations at Olds, and more.
The progress, importance, and potential of Alberta’s Innovative Agriculture Industry is undeniable. Globally critical and a provincial strength – we hope to see many of the AgSmart innovators at the ASTech Awards this year. (Reminder – Nominations Deadline is August 15 don’t miss out – Nominate!)
